Who we are
The cornerstone was laid in 1993, when Bettina Steinberg and Christoph von der Seipen founded the law firm Von der Seipen & Steinberg, advising their clients in national and international labour and commercial law.
The labour law department was established and led by Bettina Steinberg.
In 2018, Bettina Steinberg founded - together with her colleagues of the labour law department - the lawfirm
The foundation of a small, but highly specialized unit was the consequence of a growing need of many companies for fast and flexible advice in all matters of labour law, offered by a well attuned team of lawyers in which each lawyer plays on the same high level.
What we do
Since the early 1990s we advise and represent national and international enterprises in all issues of individual and collective labour law (including issues arising in connections with managing directors, board members, freelancers and commercial agents).
Our activities range from advise in daily HR-business to the development and implementation of modern working(time)concepts or complex restructurings as well as to negotiations and drafting of works agreements and company-internal collective agreements.
Several years ago, we extended our portfolio by data protection as an additional discipline. We advise on all aspects of data protection law. Furthermore, we actively conduct our function as data protection officer for numerous companies. Proudly we can say that we are, inter alia, voting member of the data-protection-board of one of the biggest retail and tourism groups in Germany. Consequently, we are very familiar with the requirements and challenges that data protection law sets on companies and groups of all sizes.
The package of our services is made complete by regular workshops on labour law issues and a regular newsletter as well as by our steady cooperation partner PNHR (located in the same building) for all issues relating to tax- and corporate law issues (please also see “cooperations”, “Special offers”, “Workshops” and “Blog”).
We advise enterprises of all sizes and industries; for example, we advise clients of the following industries:

We have been advising a large part of our clients for many years, some of them even since the beginning of the 1990s.

We support medium-sized enterprises or start-ups in all issues of daily HR Business as gladly as bigger enterprises in HR-projects.
For some years, we set another focus of our activities on data protection law. We support enterprises in all issues related to data protection and if so desired also offer our services as external data protetion officer.
Managing directors/board members/ managers
We advise employers, managing directors, board members and managers on drafting of employment- and service agreements as well as in connection of the termination of such agreements.
We advise your enterprise if you engage freelancers and follow for you the necessary procedures at with the social security agencies in order to clarify whether freelancing activities are legally possible in your case.
We support enterprises that appoint commercial agents, and commercial agencies in drafting and termination of agency agreements, the calculation of indemnification claims and dispute resolution.
Moreover, we advise in restructurings from employees to commercial agents and vice versa.
Workshops, lectures and trainings
We have more than 20 years’ experience in workshops, lectures and trainings on labour law issues, for HR managers with long-term experiences as well as for beginners. We offer them in-house or in our office, whatever fits best to the specific requirements.
